“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (Joshua 1:8, NLT)
Yesterday I received many favorable comments regarding adding a commentary to the daily verse. Karen wrote: “The addition is great. I get up each morning looking forward to your email. The weekends just aren’t the same without them.”
That comment reminded me of today’s verse, which has been foundational for me over the years. God spoke this to a young man who was trying to fill the big shoes of Moses. Over and over again God told Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous.” But the way Joshua would prosper and succeed in conquering kingdoms and giving God’s people their inheritance was by meditating on the Word day and night. Only then could he obey God in everything, so that God could bestowHis marvelous blessings upon Joshua and the people.
My hope and prayer is that these daily meditations will help keep you in the love of God. He seeks your prosperity and success, and He has given you His Book of Instructions for that very purpose.
