“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” (Romans 8.1-2, NASB95)

Sin brings us death (separation), but the Spirit brings us life in Christ Jesus. There are many times when I come to the end of myself. I realize that my plans have failed and my way is a dead end. I am empty, discouraged and depressed, and I have no peace. I have to say, “Lord, where did I go wrong? Where did I leave the path?” Somewhere I stopped trusting completely in Christ and started trusting in myself. With self-reliance come failure, anxiety and defeat. I feel condemned and distant from God. Then I realize that it is not God’s will that I remain in this state but that I simply remain in Christ Jesus. He is my righteousness. He is my salvation. He is my peace. He is my hope. As I stop trusting in myself and start trusting in Him, He makes a way. And His way is always the way of brokenness, forgiveness, blessing, life, freedom and grace. He mends and restores the broken relationships that sin has destroyed. He removes the condemnation and separation and restores my peace. I’m praying for you that you may find this freedom, forgiveness, peace and grace in Christ Jesus.
