It’s a question worth asking because the Bible is the best-selling book of all time. But isn’t it hard to understand? Isn’t it irrelevant because it’s from a bygone era?
When I was 15 years old I determined that I would read through the entire Bible. I started in Genesis. I don’t remember how long it took me to get to Revelation, but there were many times that I didn’t understand what I was reading. Still I plowed on.
When I finally completed it, I decided to do it again. I picked up a One Year Bible and actually read through it cover to cover in a year. But still there were parts I didn’t understand. Yet over the years I have grown in my love for God’s Word and in my conviction that people need to know and understand what it says. It isn’t just an ancient document that has no relevance to modern life. It is God’s love letter to us telling us how we can live a blessed life now and inherit eternal life later.
My passion is to help others know, understand, and fall in love with the Bible. It will change your life! In April of 2017, I began a quest to teach through the entire Bible in a 15 minute radio program and podcast. In January of 2021, at the suggestion of a friend, I began writing a daily devotional to go along with the podcasts. I have decided to share these on this blog five days a week beginning in Genesis. We will start the journey on Monday, January 2nd. But first I want to share with you the podcast that began it all…
